Cooperative Extension Program-Prairie View A&M University

Purpose: Provide life skill education in the areas of parenting, financial management, marriage education, and nutrition/health for adults and youth.


Summary: To deliver practical research-based knowledge to small farm producers, families, aspiring entrepreneurs and youth in 34 Texas counties. Cooperative Extension Program agents and specialists respond not only with answers, but meet people where they are and move them along to the next level. We offer programs that work for people in the following areas: 4-H and Youth Development, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Community and Economic Development and Family and Consumer Sciences.


Our Outreach: Free life skill education classes.


Top Initiatives: Childhood obesity, Food safety


Ways to Get Involved: Master Wellness Volunteer- receive 40 hours of training, give minimum 40 hours in service.
